For sale is an antique imperial Russian Soviet porcelain plate Kuznetsov factory, which was made in Russia dated 1920 with full markings for Central Asian market in Oriental style and an Ikat textiles decoration.
Many fabric-like patterned plates were produced in Russia between 1882 to 1917, with the oldest ikat plates coming from the Gardner porcelain factory. The older plates were decorated in faience style, meaning that an opaque white slip was used beneath colorful over-glazes. Later plates were sprayed with color. Hues favored include the same deep reds, pinks, blues, greens and violets seen in Bukhara-produced Central Asian textiles.
Common motifs encompass double rams' horns, concentric or rhomboidal-shaped eye spots, and varied parallel stripes.
The diameter of the piece is 22.5 cm (9 inches). The condition of this piece is very good and ORIGINAL with NO restoration, NO chips, NO cracks and NO hairlines, see images.
Please see other plates with IKAT design with antique silk IKAT textiles for example.
